Real Wedding: Fairy-tale Come True

When Cashmere first appeared by engaging with our IG profile, I was curious. She had liked a few posts and even left a couple of comments. So I went to her profile. I did not expect to see this beautiful & professional photojournalist. I knew I had to work with her. Yes, I do crush on my clients! They inspire me.

Cashmere and Kirr met during Christmas when a mutual friend introduced them. She was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and he was stationed at Fort Bliss.

Knowing that his soon to be bride was not one for public surprises, Kirr planned in intimate proposal with his two soon to be daughters. When he picked up Cashmere from work, she was surprised to see that he was not dressed for their scheduled date out. She recalls seeing him in sweat pants and thinking,Is that what you planned to wear?” Little did she know, a sweet romantic surprise was just around the corner.

When they arrived home, she walked in to see the floor covered in rose petals and her girls smiling from ear to ear. At that point, she figured he had a date set up that included the girls. But when she got to her room, there was more petal in the shape of a heart on her bed. When she turned around, Kirr was on his knee, proposing. That moment leads to lots of happy tears and hugs for each of them.

When it came to creating a wedding day style, this couple turned to some unusual inspiration. While enjoying their shared interest in cakes, they came across a video of a baby smashing a cake. Both of them loved the moody colors used in the video. Pink and Blue are their favorite colors, and the Maroon tied into Kirr’s Asian heritage. Thus they used Maroon, Navy, and Pink as their wedding color inspiration.

When asked for the best advice to offer newly engaged couples, Cashmere mentioned that her engagement was after building her relationship from a long distance. With Kirr stationed in Texas and her in Maryland, they had 18 months of building over 1500 miles. She encourages fellow military couples not to feel pressured into marriage or engagement because it is possible to create a lasting bond while miles apart.
